Hi this is my first post on the Thai langusge forum so please be kind. I hear the term somnamna mentioned on a regular basis, but none of the Thais that i know can or will translate its meaning. Does anyone know when this can and can not be used.

Cheers Rick

Rough meaning is "Serves you right".

Can be used as a joke eg

Me: "I've got a bad hangover"...

Thai: "Som nam na" :D

Or:

Me: My bargirl girlfriend stole, my house, my car and all my money :D

Thai: "Som nam na" :o

Hope you get the idea...
