Slap My Nips
Hey guys, I was waiting for a new passport to arrive and it came on the last day of my 30 day extension to my 30 day visa exempt. Can I go to immigration for a 7 day exit stamp even though I’ve now overstayed by one day? Thank you
ukrules
Not sure, you're on thin ice here.
jacko45k
I believe so, you will be refused an extension and given 7 days. If you are already on overstay you may also get a 500 baht fine. Please wait for one of the 'experts' to confirm this! Going straight to the airport is another option! I went to do a border run this morning and the bus was full ????
Popular Post ubonjoe
You can apply for an extension, pay the 500 baht overstay fine, pay the 1900 baht fee for an extension and then be granted 7 days to leave the country after the extension is denied.

I am not sure where you are in Thailand, but as long as a bus or van is headed out in the direction of one of the borders, there is a way. Sometimes, you may have to do a couple of van-hops, routing through a larger hub, if a direct-bus isn't available. In any case - bummer about the overstay, but glad you are getting it fixed right away.

JetSetFvr
All I know is they are getting very picky with ANY overstay but this might change with everything else.

A one-day is still not a big problem, but definitely best to avoid any at all.
