I went with someone who took their motorbike for the annual MOT. The mechanic looked at it and wrote the certificate - no checking whatsoever.

  • At least something is done about those vehicles that belch out that black smoke. I see it so often poorly maintained cars and trucks that keep spewing black smoke. I wish they kept this up like this.

  • Now that's what I like to see. Action not just words!

Great idea. Check Points. Slow the traffic. Keep the vehicles on "idle". Yup, that will solve the problem.

you should realize that this is all the Thai navy conducing training in laying smoke screens, saw a fine example in khonkaen yesterday when a pick up filled a junction with smoke

So they will take the old red citybuses from the roads?? And also the old trucks, escavators and all other smoking crap? loh lin krab.

I am reminded of the scenario of a dog chasing a car. If he catches it, would he know what to do? ????

What about the people checking all of these vehicles for registration every year?  Obviously flawed-including brake checks

Police Tea Money Pollution Check Points. Of course.

Do try and keep up.

There's old buses belching out exhaust smoke like this all over town.

Not in Phrakhanong downtown. It sounds fashionable but in truth there are almost no pure old diesel buses.

Maybe a long way out in the burbs but not downtown BMTA

All they really need to do is stop every tourist bus!  They will find where most of the black smoke comes from very quickly!  Perhaps some of the country pickup trucks should be included too.
