Yet another honest cabby! He returns diamond encrusted Rolex worth 170,000 baht!

Sanook reported on the case of yet another honest Thai cabby who returned a diamond encrusted Rolex worth 170,000 baht to its delighted owner.

Yuphaporn Kammankhanurak, a 52 year old businesswoman from Songkhla, had taken a ride from a condo in Thing Khru district to Bai Yok 1 tower in Pratunam on Sunday.

On the way she was rummaging through her bag and noticed her Rolex was missing and wondered if she had dropped it somewhere. She called her son who said he couldn't find it at home in the condo.

Her twin son in Songkhla later suggested calling FM 91 radio station.

In the meantime Phuwadon Jindapaneekun, the driver of orange and white cab ทห (Thor Hor) 7785 with Bangkok plates, had gone to fill up with gas at Sathorn Soi 1.

He noticed the watch on the back seat and handed it in to the radio station.

Yesterday Yuphaporn took evidence of ownership of the watch to the radio station and was reunited with her watch. She said that it was a gift from her husband and was worth 170,000 baht.

She said she had feared she would not get it back and that it was wonderful to meet such a good person.

She gave the cabby 5,000 baht as a reward.

I think she was lucky that the cabbie stopped for fuel and spotted the watch first. His next customer may not have been so honest.

... the Diamond ones, that is; unless settle for some minor encrusted sprinkle, and base price 200000 upwards. And these are the bottom of the barrel level ones

Maybe she wasnt to concerned about the watch, as she borrowed it from a retired general.:cheesy:

If it was hers she would have been more careful with it.

A rhinestone encrusted knock-off, maybe.  But a REAL diamond encrusted Rolex?  Me thinks not for that price.

I have been to the Rolex web site, my browser being in Thailand all the prices were in Bahts a watch like the one in OP  is around 1.500.000 Baht

so possible a 0 is missing?

Because for sure 100% 170.000 Bahts it is impossible. The cheapest for women in steel on the Rolex.com website is around this price is at 171,600

Here's another one for the uninformed cynics...

https://www.chrono24.co.th/rolex/lady-datejust--id9653478.htm

My wife owns a THB 345.000 Rolex with no diamonds at all.

Guess this one must be the plastic/diamond special edition.

Where is Prawit? He would know if it was a copy or not.
