Big Joke in middle of night airport inspection as Year of the Pig looms

The immigration website on Facebook - the baby of its relatively new chief Lt Gen Surachate Hakparn - reported on their leader's 1 am visit to Suvarnabhumi airport on Wednesday.

The man known affectionately as "Big Joke" joined with the airport chief and a whole welter of immigration top brass - and of course the press - to inspect the readiness of immigration booths, Visa on Arrival facilities and other arrangements ahead of Chinese New Year.

The Year of the Pig starts on February 5th.

The Immigration Bureau site said that a huge number of Chinese tourists were expected.

They painted a rosy picture since VoA fees were suspended from November to January, a state decision that has now been extended to the end of April.

They said VoA applications were up 84.75% in November, year on year, and this had now risen to 92.47% up.

Immigration said that they wanted tourists to be confident in their service and be impressed by their work.

How about: Attention Seeker....

Of course his inspection was announced hours earlier for some early preparation. He could have walk in unannounced and without his entourage to see the 'real' airport.

i like Big Joke's taste in women. Always has a few hotties around him.

He may well pull off another good job as my Chiang Mai 90 day report astoundingly concluded in under 10 minuets ????

Autograph, anyone?

How about trying to do a good job?

I'd give the one on the far left a miss, she looks more like a snorting bull than a hottie

Year of the pig?

And I thought it is the year of swine fever

His favorite times for photo OPs seems to be 1 AM to 4 AM?

Does he need sleep?

How about admitting "You're kidding me."

For once I can say I agree. Surprise visits can find cures sometimes.

The really big question is: Will there be enough pens for arrivals to fill in their TM6s?

Well yingluck could have done the same thing, checked things without announcement, she didn't, to the point she ended with a 5 year jail sentence.
