david_je
I'm thinking of getting non-surgical procedure to make upper-middle-aged face a bit younger-looking, but not sure where to begin. Maybe dermal filler or some such? What kind of place/specialist should I look for, in terms of integrity, skill, safety and affordability? Is there a reputable place that offers complementary first-time consultation? Would appreciate hearing your advice and of your experience. Thanks. Sheryl
Volume Fillers can do a lot. If there are fine lines/wrinkles then a combo of Botox and fillers may be best. Most people can take about 10 years off their face with judicious use of these 2 things. But they are far from inexpensive, and last only 6 - 18 months so you have to keep doing it. Fillers and Boitox can be done by either a GP, dermatologist or plastic surgeon in all 3 cases provided they have been specially trained in it. Experience is important as is taking one's time both to determine what "look" the patient is after and to identify the best spots to inject to get it. I have found that the majority of Thai doctors want to inject in a rote manner (same amount in exact same parts of the face in all patients) and have difficulty thinking "outside the box" about it. Also, the rote application is geared towards Thai faces and Thai standards of beauty. I get mine from Dr. Donna Robinson at MedconsultAsia. She is a British GP trained in Botox and a range of fillers and her prices are as good as you will find in Thailand. https://www.medconsultasia.com/botox-and-fillers You may also hear about RF treatments like Ulthera and Thermage. These are very, very expensive, very painful and the results are subtle at best. I had it once and never again. IMO, if fillers and Botox don't do the trick then either live with it or get a face lift.
