Any suggestion to a traveler who visit BKK on Election date ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Just found out that 24-March is the election date in Thailand which my wife and I will go to BKK to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary.  Been BKK for more than 20 times and mainly visit those pop-zones including temples and malls etc...   Someone told me just don't wear yellow/red shirts and don't go to over-crowed places.

What's the suggestion from you guys who living in BKK to a traveler ?

Regards!

Cowby

Pfff no stress....no yellow or red would be wise but for the rest just do what you want.

The most notable will be the fact that is an alcohol free day, bars and other venues prohibited to sell alcohol.

I already hear the lament in the forum

Election day is unlikely a day where trouble develops.

What could happen in the coming weeks is a separate topic.

Jameson, King Power, 1 liter 950 THB.....you will thank yourself for buying.

You probably will not be able to buy alcohol anywhere so prepare for that.

Don't go to Bangkok, go somewhere nice for your anniversary.

Something like Khao Sok national Park in suratthani.

Stock up a lot of beer or whisky and wait the election out.
