This was our Mitsubishi Pajero after 6 month. Same as in your case, nobody was responsible. Finally we went to the consumer department, they have been very friendly and helpful, but they have not the power to decide, they only can mediate.

Mitsubishi offered obliging to pay for the undercover rust protection, but only if we sign, that they did no fault. We did not sign.

We do undercover rust protection ourselves and drive now this car since 10 years and nearly 220.000 km, without rusting through.

What product did you use for the underseal ?  I may need to have this done later in the year

The rust in the picture is only surface rust. Of no consequence.

You should see our haul trucks after 24/7 running on wet mud roads - no damage other than cosmetic.

Hi,  Yes I agree that the rust in the picture does not look particularity bad. My interest was more in underseal in general when living close to the sea (high salt content in the air) - and if 'extra' underseal protection for cars is something which is done in Thailand.

Cars in Victoria and Vancouver BC - both coastal cities - have many pristine 40 - 50 - 60 year old cars running around since new.

Now Ontario - miles from the ocean - rusts cars like nobodies business.

So - it is not salt in the air, it is salt on the road which causes the problem

Sorry for answering late,I saw it in this moment. I can't remember what kind of rust protection it was. It was certainly nothing special, black "color". I took it to a workshop and it was cheap. About 2500 THB,  10 years ago

In the Uk FORD was known as FRAUD  had a lot of comapny car Fords ,, they were poorly made

The FIESTA was a FESTER

Rge TRANSIT VAN was a RANCID VAN

The CORTINA was a CRAPTINA

The ESCORT was the EXTORT

The CAPRI was the CRAPPY

The SIERRA  was The SPAREUS

THE MONDEO  was the MUNDANO

The GRANADA  was the BASTARDA

The Ranger is the BEST looking Pickup in Thailand but it is not the best for reliabilty especially the engine ,

Get the Thai consumer protection board on the case they do have real teeth

When compared to what marque within those timeframes?

Relative comparisons within those timeframes would show a different perspective for vehicles available in GB.

How many Best Car awards were given to Ford within your timeframes for the models you stipulate?

Exempting the eco-motors what are/have been the problem motors and why?

para 3 not a question
