UK State Pension Forecast - Reliable?
Very strange. I just received a letter from HMRC asking me to pay outstanding class 2 NIC but the amount owed is zero! There's a giro cheque attached to it, also showing zero, which I'm supposed to take to the bank 🤔 -

Vietnam Tourist Visa - why not easier?
Another question. When you finally got the e-visa, did you have any hassle at airport check-in? Air Asia tells me because the VN visa has my last name first (duh, like all visas) and as the air ticket in my name has my first name first (not my last name first) it's a problem. Surely the VN official visa and the order of the names on it trumps Air Asia's format?? -

Accident Collision in Rayong Claims Lives of Two Children, Leaves Four Injured
Pictures from responders. A high-speed collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle with sidecar during the night of 3 May, in Klaeng District has left two children dead and four adults seriously injured, including their parents. At approximately 22.30, police at Klaeng Police Station received a report of a serious crash on Road 3648 near Moo 10, Tambon Thang Kwian. Pol. Sub Lt. Natthawat Ngobutda and emergency rescue teams rushed to the scene. Emergency personnel arrived to find four injured individuals, two men and two women and the lifeless bodies of an 11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, both of whom had been thrown from the sidecar during the impact. The white pickup truck involved was found nearby with severe front-end damage. About 60 metres away, a six-wheel lorry stood at the roadside, with the crushed motorcycle jammed into its rear. Initial investigations revealed that the pickup, driven by a man in his forties, was travelling at high speed along Sukhumvit Road towards the Thang Kwian intersection. The road, currently under construction and narrowed by concrete barriers to a single lane, became the site of the collision when a motorcycle with sidecar carrying the family members attempted a U-turn. As the motorcycle manoeuvred across the narrowed stretch, the pickup driver was reportedly unable to brake in time, crashing violently into the sidecar and sending its passengers flying. The sidecar was thrown more than six metres from the impact site. The motorcycle itself continued forward, colliding with the rear of a lorry that had just passed ahead. The injured were transported to Klaeng Hospital for emergency treatment. The pickup driver, who also sustained injuries, is being monitored and will be questioned by authorities once his condition improves. Police confirm legal proceedings will follow pending a full investigation. Adapted by Asean Now from Workpoint 2025-05-04. -

Operation Dumpling Drop: Where Have All the Hot Tigresses Gone???
I also notice that body weight and fitness have changed a lot in the last 25 years. I actually blame milk at primary school with its growth factors creating a larger body plan and processed fast food in later age to fill this plan to the max (as in the West). Also, most people simply do not have an agrarian background with back-braking work from a child's age on on their biography any more. In the early 2000s there were a few years were you literally could see which of the girls was growing up on a farm simply due to their body features, coming literally from a lack of nutritious food and being physically over-worked in their childhood (growing up with nutrient deficiencies makes a woman super-slim with nearly boyish features in early adult life). All in all I believe that many Thais have swapped one extremely unhealthy lifestyle (deficiency and over-exertion) with another (over-abundant western fast food and a sessile and lazy lifestyle). We in the West were just a little bit ahead in that curve.
