I'm waiting for the lazy b*#!d farmers to come out and apologize for deliberately breaking the law burning the cane and poisoning everyone around them. I watched a video of some kids being evacuated from school because of these ar*eholes lighting fires. The kids weren't just walking calmly. They were bolting down the street and the flames and smoke was massive.

3 weeks on and I'm back offshore and still suffering from the effects of this PM2.5.

I used to have a lot of respect for farmers seeing how hard they work but thats changed and they're just a bunch of inconsiderate morons who care about themselves and nobody else to save a few bucks.

I don't respect those thai farmers at all, they sell us poisonous products, make the roads dangerous with their vehicles/ttucks, pollute the air and always complain or want money from the government.

We buy everything imported now, but mr CP even stopped selling imported coffee in his Makro so that shop we also ban from now on.

Well done thailand, now wait for Europe to put you on the ban-list for polluting the atmosphere.

  • Their response to air pollution will have the same effect as their response to road deaths. Little or none. They need a reminder that enforcement of rules is the key, and that's something seldom done.

Here in Kanchanaburi the air is worse than in Bangkok.

There are daily announcements asking people not to burn and the consequences if they do.

Stop blaming diesels. They dont help but they are not the root cause you liars!

Seems there is a push to get taxes from base model elec cars when they arrive to fill the gap that fuel $$ lines the govs pockets.

They should be ashamed. ITS THE FKN SUGARCANE (money make for the gov also) and forest fires, rubbish burning an6s charcoal manufacture which are the leading causes. Stop fooling yourselves. People arent as stupid as yourselves.

Your all fkn murders.

Apology not accepted. Resign immediately and let someone in to fix the country.

Nonono. Accept the truth, there is no sugar cane. It does not exist. Nobody ever burns anything here. The farmers are all law abiding standup citizens. It can only be BKK diesels suffocating Chiang Mai. Official truth only!

Was it the junta or the previous batch of clowns that made it preferable to have sugar cane instead of rice?

In the meantime, operations to fight smog continued in several parts of Greater Bangkok. On Friday morning, four drones took off from Bangkok City Hall to join three fire engines in the latest battle against health-threatening haze.

Water is also being sprayed from the high floors of tall buildings.

Sterling effort. Now if only they could get their hands on some of those GT200 smog dispersers...

Today's figure from 25km's north of Kanchanaburi, where we live, is 152 whilst Bangkok is about 60ish according to Govt figures.

The burning is continuing unabated despite the public announcements because nobody in positions of authority gives a shit.
