So last time I posted a quote, it was made invisible by a mod until I explained exactly where the quote came from (I did, but he did not know the person) and showed me that link. To me it seems that only liberals are treated this way because I see hundreds and more off false claims, without a link (respectful) and they go unpunished. Top of that, we're not allowed to say that by forum rules. -

Yes they are greedy. 2B tickets to HCMC were more expensive, I was in P-P before in 2017 making TV, knew the area, was easier for me. 3. Can't say, there are no requirements on the P-P website. if it is at least 2 weeks I think you'd be fine, for a soft-power (medical/classes/festival). Mine were sitting in the account from November 2023. -

According to DNC "insiders" voters reaction to the Harris/Walz interview was poor. The problem for the DNC is that Kamala is fundamentally a sanctimonious and dislikeable person. They have a new Bidenesque problem. She does well enough in front of a teleprompter, useless in the moment. So like Biden, they are trying the Basement campaign strategy. It worked for him. The DNC are genuinely worried about tomorrow's debate. They really could do without a "you'd be in jail" moment, and gawd forbid a Bidel-level mumblethon. And she's known for that. Something to do with "unburdened" or something like that. Two things have Dems worried. The closed mike system is designed to shut Trump up. It doesn't help Kamala's oft used "I'm talking" trope. But here's the real worry - if Kamala goes after Trump's character she's opening the door to crushing rebuttal. If I were her I would stick to policy alone and not mention Trump's character. Trump is a brutal debater. Kamala has given him plenty to attack. If she escapes this with a draw she'll likely win the election. It's hers to lose. -

Forgot to cancel my non-b visa extension
MANY others have experienced this. You are far from alone. You need to show the termination-paperwork from the school. They just need to write a letter saying "Person (you) stopped working here on Feb 26, 2024," on their letterhead. The 500 per-day referenced by a post above, is if for days remaining in-country after the termination-date while on your non-B extension-of-stay. As long as immigration stamped you in on your Tourist Visa (you did not have a re-entry permit for your Non-B extension), the fine could be no more than 500 Baht for 1-day. -

Air conditioner is dripping water, is that normal?
Look at this pic from a previous post. As I understood the condensation comes out from the isode anir we anre cooling annd de-humidifying, and is channeld outside by a tube or pipe. I have moved into a rental years before that was leaking inside. Of course it had been all gummed up with scum and mold. I get my AC cleaned as frequently as needed to avoid such issues. My main Mitsubish in Chiang Mai has been sitting on a balcony for 16 years. No maintenance other than cleaning the internal unit. Ice cold no inside leaks. I hear Daikin is good too -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
On the limited information so far, If resident and paying tax in a country without a DTR the tax paid in the home country is disregarded. Most countries have a form of tax relief to deal with this - say 3/4 of the overseas tax is an allowable deduction - but this is unlikely to be addressed in Thailand when something as simple as taxing gains and not allowing losses is currently the practice. So for the foreseeable future I will spend less than 180 days in Thailand and my Partner can stay with me for 180 days in my Country - so not many days for me to spend elsewhere. I get free medical care in my home Country but would have to pay in Thailand. Cannot see another option until legislation is passed. At least my Country does not have a TIEA (exchange of information arrangement) with Thailand. -

Following extensive discussions and a study by the Ministry of Labour, the decision aims to navigate Thailand’s slowing economy with a focus on analytical backing. Substantial compensatory measures have been outlined to support businesses, particularly those with over 200 employees, which represent a significant portion of the workforce. The Social Security Office (SSO) will extend a 1% discount on contributions to the Social Security Fund (SSF) until September next year to offset the financial burden. Smaller enterprises, typically with under 200 employees, are exempt from this wage increase. The ministry intends to lean on historical strategies, reflecting measures from 2012, to assist these SMEs until economic recovery strengthens. Adding to the conversation, Sanga Ruangwattanakul, President of the Khao San Road Business Association, expressed worries about potential negative effects such as employment slowdowns and rising costs, urging the government for tax relief and long-term employment solutions.
