I renew my non marriage retirement visa on my uk passport. I am entitled to dual nationality -Irish. Though I have all of the requirements for visa renewal I have considered obtaining an Irish European Union passport. I have lost faith in the competence of the British Embassy.  Following their muddled and unprofessional handling of the recent changes in retirement visa rules.  Will the transfer of my retirement visa to an Irish passport after or before BREXIT be acceptable to Thai Immigration or will Immigration expect me to apply for a completely new visa possibly from Ireland?

You would have to leave and re-enter the country using your Irish passport and then apply for a new extension of stay.

Best to get a new non-o visa in your Irish passport before entering the country to make it easier to get the new extension.

You will not be able to change passports whilst in Thailand - You will need to exit the country and re-enter using the Irish passport - Which will mean having to restart the retirement application process from a new 'O' visa.

Could he get that at one of the Thai consulates in Laos?
