Poll: Thais want better living standards

It would be news if they were willing to work for those better living standards. Like losing the face culture, kowtowing, have real democracy and all that jazz.

Thais can take back-breaking, tough labor, and with fewer complaints than farangs.

The really difficult work for Thais is breaking their programming.  As it is for all of us, I suppose... In one sense or another.  Thais won't just "lose" face culture--like a handbag--overnight.  It's going to be a slow process, unless something unforeseeably traumatic/dramatic happens.  I mean, something seriously from left field here, like a meteor strike or something.  They'll change when they're absolutely forced to... and they already have a very, very, very high threshold for getting pissed off enough to upset the apple cart.

Democracy here will be in name only until you have a populace at least somewhat capable of critical thinking and, especially, introspection.

So Thais want better living standards huh ... Well one of the

best ways for a country to better it's citizens living standards

is to increase it's GDP and the best way to increase GDP is for

Govt to find a way to bring more money into country ... so what

does Thailand do? ... it does the opposite with it's new

immigration rule changes it is driving money out of the country

... seems a little ignorant if you ask me

Are you saying that from a position of being "better off" then the people who participated in the survey ?

Are you earning 9000 Baht a month, like many Thais who want a better standard of living ?

Are you a rich guy , telling the poor people that they should be happy with what they got ?

A Thai worker who spends all his income on basic survival , shouldnt seek more ?

does  that better standard  of living mean they need a  new  phone, bike  ,  pick  up

99.99999% of Brits in Thailand want the Baht to fall so they could put an extra big bottle of Chang into their weekly budget.
