Our picture from Sanook shows how it felt for three Chinese nationals after a contingent of police armed with a search warrant went to a luxury condo in the Jomtien area of Pattaya.

They found the men taking bets on football, lotteries and games of various kinds. Their daily turnover was two million  baht.

Arrested were Wu Zejun, 31, Gou Bo, 28 and Zhao Lei, 31.

They said they had been working in the betting business for two years but had been in Thailand only a month.

Computer notebooks, an iPad, four phones and two bankbooks were taken into evidence.

The men have been charged with running a gambling operation and working without a work permit and working on a temporary stay visa.

They have been detained by Na Jomtien police following the raid by the local force, Pattaya tourist police and  Chonburi provincial immigration.

they arrested them, provided their name and they still covered their faces..... maybe because these are the same guys that were arrested around 6 months ago on the same betting operations charges

Agreed - it looks like a repeat story or they didn't learn/pay enough first time round.

There are illegal Chinese Casinos in Pattaya. They must be owned by "influential" Thais.

do you know much of the rich Thais are Chinese descendants ... birds of the feather stick together
