February 26, 200719 yr As a Fortuner owner, I note that that gasoline powered versions appear to be in the minority. Past topics in this forum would indicate that the diesel version is preferred because it gives more kilometres per litre. Just for interest, what kms/ltr do you get? This should be taken from the on-board computer readout. I accept that it is not super accurate but I assume that any errors will be consistent across all models. My computer has not been re-set so read-out is from delivery kms. I will start off: 1. (Engine Type) Gasoline 2.7 2. (Usual fuel) Benzine 91 3. (Total kms) 57,450 4. (Kms/ltr) 10.3 Over to you. Peter
February 26, 200719 yr Mine is reset a few times but: Phuket Hua Hin- Hua Hin Phuket 12.7 kml, i was not driving really slow 3.0 TD V model
February 26, 200719 yr just clarify something for me please. When you turn off the engine, doesn't the trip reading stop recording - i.e. it doesn't change again until you press reset - it doesn't keep recording / monitoring?
February 27, 200719 yr 1. (Engine Type) D4D 3.0 2. (Usual fuel) doh 3. (Total kms) 20,000 4. (Kms/ltr) 11 I didn't buy the diesel because of fuel mileage. I bought it for reliability and longevity.
February 28, 200719 yr Author just clarify something for me please. When you turn off the engine, doesn't the trip reading stop recording - i.e. it doesn't change again until you press reset - it doesn't keep recording / monitoring? As far as I can see, when you switch off the engine after a trip, it resets the average speed record. All other records are accumulative until RESET or, presumably, the battery is disconnected.
February 28, 200719 yr 1. (Engine Type) D4D 3.0 2. (Usual fuel) doh 3. (Total kms) 60,000 4. (Kms/ltr) 11 Probably 80% of this was driving in town. Do seem to get slightly better fuel consumption on out of town trips, but not much more than 11.8.
