The thread was about DTV and going to immigration to extend it at the immigration office. Those guys could be stubborn and make a DTV extension in country difficult with requirements and documents.
As usual these days, tax laws got mentioned. I pointed out already in my posts above. I am not repeating myself all over again.

If usa build 8L cars and sells them to Europe, Usa is responsible for their overconsumption of fuel, when they could had used collective transport instead. That's the level of your arguments lays
For one , you have to trust them , not for a few baht but for a big amount.
Two : if they exchange for you , it will go on their record and seen as their income and will rocket them past the 150k.
You get taxed for bringing money into thailand , so theoreticly , if you bring cash with you in the country , you have to report it , even if not exchanged and leave in you foreign currency.
