We were independent before we joined, if we were doing so well why did we ? Britain is better of now than before Brexit. How has Osborne been proved wrong, we haven't left yet, armageddon is still waiting in the wings.

There is one.

There are countless more. May I suggest you do a bit of research. No we haven't left but this is what he said would happen. It didn't.

"I remember no workers from the continent'". That's because your working days were apparently over, 10 years ago.

In 2016, 6,382 fully qualified EU nurses entered Britain, followed by a staggering 9,389 in 2017. All this due to the fact that the british government decided not to pay for the education of british nurses, it was cheaper to have them educated at EU cost in Europe, and then have them come to britain.

Now, they are leaving in their droves: 4000 last year, 2019 will probably be worse, and there are only 800 new applications this year from EU nurses that want to come to England.

As to Non-EU recruitement: pay peanuts, get monkeys.

And you have your own government to thank for it.

Yes, I quit the NHS long before 2016.

When I first started working for the NHS many nurses came from Australasia fully qualified at no expense to the NHS, but they mainly worked agency as NHS pay was rubbish. The Labour government answer to this was to make it impossible for the excellent Australasian nurses to work agency, and import large numbers of African nurses, some of which seemed not to know much about nursing ( I know why, but not saying on here ), to join hospital staffs.

Most of the Australasian nurses did NOT join hospital staff- they scorned the pay and conditions.

Now, they are leaving in their droves:

That doesn't surprise me at all. I loved the work, despised the management. When it got too bad I left.

Don't think so. That got sold off and according to Wikipedia is now made in Holland.

Food banks and benefit claims forms for the 'innit crowd then, or perhaps knives for your local street stabbing.
