It hasn’t been a good week for Thai Airways as the national airline continues to fly passengers to their original destinations days after flights were cancelled and rescheduled due to Pakistan airspace closures. Even yesterday Thai Airways was reporting a backlog of up to 2,000 passengers they were hoping to clear before the end of this weekend.

Saying no to ‘Say No’ campaigns – Tackling Thailand’s plastic bag problem

Some timid but long overdue steps are now being taken towards reducing Thailand’s plastic waste. Baby steps to start with but there is no doubt that the issue has now entered the Thai national psyche. In reaction, so far, Thai businesses have, for the most part, made only cursory PR efforts at tackling the bigger problem but, again, it’s a start.

PHUKET: The popular tourist beach areas of Bang Tao and Surin Beach on Phuket’s west coast make history yesterday (Mar 1) as the first wastewater-treatment plants serving the areas are brought online – the first major step forward in the hope of eradicating the putrid pools of black wastewater that have gathered on the two beaches for more than a decade.

U.S. safety agencies to investigate fatal Tesla crash in Florida

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said they are sending teams to investigate a fatal crash in Florida on Friday involving a Tesla Inc car and a semi-trailer.

(Reuters) - Actress Katherine Helmond, a seven-time Emmy Award nominee who played lusty matriarchs on the hit television sitcoms "Soap" and "Who's the Boss" from the 1970s into the 1990s, died last month at the age of 89, her talent agency said on Friday.

(Reuters) - About 60 firefighters and eight fire engines attended to a fire on top of a commercial tower block in London's Canary Wharf area, but there were no injuries and the fire was under control at 0158 GMT, London Fire Brigade said early on Saturday.
