The Thai Tourist Police Bureau have acted after more than 100 victims were found to have been defrauded by a tour company that set up booths at major tourist trade shows.

T and D Time Tour Co Ltd had been at the "Thai Thiaw Thai" (Thai visit Thailand) fair in the Queen Sirikit Convention center in November and also at fairs at Impact Muang Thong Thani and Lotus in Ayuthaya.

They offered cheap tours then disappeared with the clients' money.

Eleven operators were affected on Koh Lipe.

Arrest warrants were issued for the company chiefs Darinee Nakornthai and Therawut Changkhanak.

Therawut was arrested on Saturday while Darinee remains at large.

Complainants were seen presenting flowers to immigration chief Lt-Gen Surachat Hakparn who is the former deputy at the TPB.

Losses are believed to be in the region of 450,000 baht according to the report on the TPB site on Facebook.

A vinyl sign pictured there, however, stated that the figure was 450,000 million baht.

Doesn't that equal 450 gajillion baht? NOW we're talking SERIOUS money!

This was a scam about Thais visiting places in Thailand. So why is there an Immigration bureau shield in the picture? I don't get it.
