Man’s bloated body found by neighbours in Din Daeng flat three days after death

The bloated body of a man was found Monday inside a Din Daeng, Bangkok flat room where he lived with his adopted mother and mentally retarded sister, police said.

 

Neighbours living on the third floor of the Flat Din Daeng 57 on Prachasongkroh Road noticed a strong stench and knocked on the door. Receiving permission to check the apartment, the neighbours found the dead man’s bloated body in his room on the modified mezzanine floor.

 

The mother, Siaheng Saelao, 80, told police that she had not noticed the stench and did not realise that her adopted son, Pornchai Saelao, 45, had died.

 

Siaheng said she lives in the room with Pornchai and another adopted daughter, Panadcha Saelao, 49, who is mentally retarded.

 

A doctor determined the man had died about three days previous to the discovery.

 

The mother said she could not climb up the M floor to check. She said she called out to her son daily from Saturday morning to come and eat, but assumed he had left for work when he did not reply.

 

Police found sliced cannabis near the body.

I see bloated bodies in my bar all the time, but I don't accuse them of being dead.
