I am thinking of applying for a Non O extension married to a Thai, I don't have the 400,000 k in the bank but since Sept of last year have a steady income of 60k going into my Thai bank every month, as the embassy now no longer issues letters what is the deal with proving where it comes from?

You can meet the 40k baht income requirement by showing it going into a Thai bank account from outside the country.

You will need a bank book or a statement showing them to be international transfers.

So I have my UK state pension paid direct into my Thai Kasikorn Bank Acc, and also once a month I transfer the remainder to make up the 40,000baht from my UK bank acc. Would the bank book have to be updated monthly to show this to satisfy Jomptien Immigration.

You would not have to update your bank book every month since most banks can provide a statement of your account that would satisfy immigration.

Just get an O visa in Savanakhet and save the 400k. I realize this is not what you asked but that is so much drama and it may very well not work anyway. It's really only a matter of time before this door closes as the retirement extension did for incoming funds.

Don't understand why people are not preparing for this inevitability. Immigration doesn't want the complicated job of sorting this stuff out, especially since so much of it is dodgy if not outright fraudulent.

Prepare to have exact same rules for retirement extension applied.

Not sure what you are trying to say about extensions based upon retirement.

The 65k baht income option is still available.

When is your extension due for renewal?

Thanks for the reply.

I have on-line banking, I didn't realise I could print the statements off myself. Can you go back the full 12 months. Do I print them monthly?

Only goes back 6 months, but you can request earlier statements.

There are issues with foreign transfers being recorded as International Transfers with Kasikorn depending on the method used and their routing system.

Log in now and check your previous transfers of UK state pension are recorded as 'International'.

My state pension is written as :- 'domestic money transfer' and my private pension is written as 'international tranfer and factoring centre.'

Therein lies the issue with Kasikorn.

Your state pension was routed through their Head office before being transferred to your local account.

Kasikorn don't inform the local branch of the source of transfer.

For these transactions you can request an Advice receipt from KK which will give the International transfer details.

That said my mate had great difficulty with his KK branch acquiring these, gave up and opened a Bangkok bank account where the source 'International' is recrded.

I might be better just opening a Bangkok Acc, I should be ok this year as I have my 'proof of income' from the British Embassy which I will utilise in a couple of weeks, so thinking ahead.

Having said that I need to change my bank pretty soonish. Thanks for the info.
