Actor Jussie Smollett indicted on 16 counts of lying to Chicago police

Accused people should be given the presumption of innocence. Even James Clapper, who perjured himself on national TV should get his day in court, except he was never charged.

Thats all Chicagoans asked, that he be given his day in court like everybody else accused of a crime with supporting evidence.

Thats where the problem lies...for some reason he received very special treatment and never was required his day in court even though the prosecutor admits the evidence and investigation were sound.

Hes trying to cry racism, in a thread about a black gay limosuine liberal who faked a hate crime, which makes no sense.    He then posts an excerpt from a study which shows women of all race

There's definitely something weird about the whole deal, what with the bail forfeiture and the sealed records.

There may still be a continued FBI/US Postal Service investigation for the hate mail threats he allegedly sent to himself at his Fox studio.

There were reports a magazine was found during the execution of the search warrant at his residence that may have had clippings similar to those on the death threat letter.

It must have been his white privilege that got him off.

The Smollett hoax, the second biggest story of 2019, just keeps getting crazier. So, yesterday the corruption in the Chicago prosecutors office was laid bare for the world to see. Mayor Rahm and chief of police both spitting feathers over the injustice and humiliation of the open corruption on show. So now it gets even nuttier, as Smollett considers suing the police department. Incredible goings on here, hopefully we will get a new topic on this major news story.

This is amazing!

Maybe this type of risk is exactly why the deal typically includes accepting a guilty plea on a misdemeanor charge or admission of guilt.

That States Atty had to know this risk.

It needs to be investigated why the Prosecutor dropped this case. Was he blackmailed? Was he afraid of some error his office made being exposed in court? Was he bribed?

Can't see adding false charges to this guy helps anyone, nobody was hurt.  If he were a girl who made false accusations of rape, he'd be set free.

1 charge, big fine and 6 month suspended sentence would be enough.

I am sorry but this is complete and udder nonsense.

Just a little dairyman humor...

Race relations were hurt. This could very easily have gone the way of the Rodney King riots. Genuine victims of hate crimes are hurt, their claims will generally be met with more skepticism after Smollett's hoax. Trump supporters are hurt, after being cast as morons hanging around a freezing street in the middle of winter clutching bleach bottles and a noose waiting to hang black homosexuals. Police in Chicago are hurt after wasting all those man hours building a solid case, and now look like fools. The Obamas are hurt, after being besmirched in this fiasco thanks to the links between the Obamas/Tchen/Smollett. The 2 Nigerian brothers are hurt, after testifying Smollett paid them to do the hoax and now they are in limbo. Kim Foxx will soon be hurt seeing as the buck stops with her. Probably some others I forgot.

Hardly a victimless crime, is it.

The more news that gets released in the Chicago Tribune the more obvious that Chicago “political machines” still hold the power in the windy city.

I had not realized the political clout the smollett family holds in Chicago until now. They are very much a part of the Obama Political Machine including personal relationships with Michelle Obama.

Asst States Attorney Foxx has just sold out the residents of IL to secure her own political future and ambitions in the Obama Power Network.

And Chicago Chief of Police Eddie Johnson has just had his ass handed to him and went from great anger yesterday insisting on Federal investigation to now humbly saying he has a great relationship with Foxx and thinks it best all of this be dismissed as old news and forgotten.
