Popular Post ross163103
Typical forum thread; starts out with a reasonable question then descends into the semantics of what was said, then descends even farther when the criticism/bickering between members starts. I've cut down on asking questions because of this. Too bad because there's a wealth of knowledge and experience from the members available......if you can withstand the BS that comes with it. 4

tgeezer
I think that the visa extension of stay controversy comes about because the Thais have adopted visa and use it instead of permission to stay which would then need amplification by retirement, marriage, study etc. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

There's always a relatively new guy on this forum who thinks he's discovered an "ah ha" moment when visa terminology is misused. Too bad the rest of us have to suffer his posts, and the subsequent ones needed to put him in place.

giddyup
Immigration confuse the matter by putting a big Retirement stamp across the extension of stay stamp. I was guilty of calling it a retirement visa for some time as well.
Nemises
Some Visa Agencies can also confuse the issue by falsely telling newbies that they will get them a “Retirement VISA”.
