A Facebook page named ‘We Don’t Deserve This Planet’ is running a campaign ‘Challenge for Change’ for rubbish cleanups. The site is an international page.

 

The Facebook page says “Let it be trending!” with the hash tag #ChallengeForChange.

 

“Here is a new #Challenge for all. Take a photo of an area that needs some cleaning or maintenance. Then take photos after you have done something about it and post it.”

This is awesome. Social media being used for something other than inane selfies and photos of what you ate.

Lets hope that there's many more photo's added to the Facebook page from clean up's in Thailand, just like the photo above from a good man in Nepal.

I am against this. Before we clean up we have to stop littering. The other way around can never work. Just a waste of time as more and more junk will be continually dumped in the same old places. If they want a lasting effect they need to refocus their efforts to stop littering.

It would be really good if this shamed the Thai Government and the Local Authorities into actually doing something positive about all the trash.

But this being Thailand, I doubt very much if they will give a Rats Arse about the mountains of trash in the Country.

 

Free trash pickup, mandatory recycling, and trash cans everywhere would help a lot
