Euro D On Thai Plate

Occasionally I have seen the "European star" D, on the left side of a white Thai No plate.

First I thought it was a patriotic thing, now I notice it is embedded on to the plate which is longer than usual.

Any ideas??

I had mine made for 1800THB per car (2 plates/car, drop off plates and pick them up the next evening)... "S" for Sweden, of course!!!

Important to find quality ones, otherwise they will allow water to leak inside...

Is the motif stamp still visable?

I ask because...

When my car was red plated, I kept getting stop checked for the legality of the plates and getting "fined" as the dealership had given me fake plates to drive on.

After I complained - several times to the dealership - I went to chevrolet direct. I then recieved proper plates and a book to write in each day. I didn't get stopped again.

What is that you don't get???

In the US they call these "vanity plates". Just like some people in TH pay huge amounts of money for a license plate with number 888 or 777 or whatever, some people like to show their citizenship by displaying the letter of their homecountry. In Europe all modern plates have this country letter.

...I was just about to reply, "I've seen the same car...." but clearly it's a common (?) accessory to buy. The driver was a Thai guy, maybe he wanted the old Nissan to grow into a BMW.

I wondered if there was enough space to get a few of the older style white oval stickers two for Thailand and a Swedish and Itailian one :-)
