Moving old toolchest full of old woodoworking tools to Thailand

Hello, I have my father's old toolchest, which he built as an apprentice, and is full of old, and vintage, mostly woodworking hand tools. I've got a good quote for shipping, but then I noticed that I might have problems at customs. Has anyone shipped anything like this? This is my first time shipping something, and although it is a personal item, it isn't books, CD's and the usual things called personal items. Will I have trouble with customs etc?Any advice would be appreciated.

Will that router work on 240 volts?

this is a very good question I wondered about bringing tools over if I ever move to Thailand. Do you have a house or garage or are you wanting to keep these for the keepsake value,? do you want to keep some that just have some value or all of them for sentimental reasons. Post a better pictures I only see a divider and the plane or planes that I would like to keep.  Some old saws can be worth money depending on which year they were made

I shipped a large box filled with used tools, clearly declared as "personal household items". No problems. Your shipper would be able to advise, they must have an agent at the port of entry.

When I moved to Thailand, I shipped 2 large chests full of tools. I don't recall labeling them as anything other than what they were, no problems though I think my wife paid a smallish fee to get the items shipped to our address.

The router will not be a problem, Thailand and Australia use similar voltages. Hand planes by the way are very expensive over here and should be retained.

Good luck!
