Palang Pracharat promises 400-450 baht minimum wage to woo voters

ข่าว-Eng5.png

The pro-Prayut Palang Pracharat party has come up with a set of populist policies ahead of the general election just nine days away, including a daily national minimum wage of 400-450 baht.

When unveiling the policies at the party’s HQ today, party leader Uttama Savananaya asserted that they are not pipe dreams and will be implemented if the party is in the next government.

The party also promises a 20,000 baht starting salary for BA graduates, 12,000 baht for a tonne of paddy, 65 baht per kg for para rubber and a minimum of five baht for a kg of oil palm seeds.

Just populism to get votes that will more than likely never come to fruition .

They're mud, pure and simple. Phea Thai and Future Foward will likely win enough and form a coalition, before their disbandment, and then a coup will probably follow that.

Most political parties have their policies in place long before the election takes place and base their campaigns on such.

This is like an afterthought on the eve of advance voting, and after overseas voting's taken place, written by a couple of guys on the back of a fag packet.

When others do it?  'populism' when they do it? 'helping the people' they are the biggest hypocrites alive

And there goes all the food exports slowly changing to Vietnam and other countries if can or cancelling orders. Ridiculous

Sadly Thais will look at those numbers and vote accordingly...they have not the capacity to think this through or see it for what it is.

They will never increase to this minimum wage as it would be stealing money from the very pupppet masters that control them. This defeats the purpose of the puppet masters allowing them to be in power.

In news from another source the Prime Minister threatens other parties that they must not make promises that would require additional government expenditure. Presumably that applies to all parties except the Palang Pracharat Party of which he is their nominated Prime Minister.

If the story is correct how is it that a caretaker Prime Minister is allowed to threaten those who might be in power after the election. Surely the Electoral Commission should not be allowing such intimidating behaviour by a Prime Ministerial candidate.

The junta enacted a new law prohibiting excessive populist policies just last year in August. Nauseating irony that they now laid out the mother of all populist policies,

“POLITICIANS yesterday lashed out at the junta’s latest move to block populist policy with a new law.

The law prohibits Cabinet members from attempting to boost their support with budget spending that may damage the economy.

The law adds more difficulties to the already-troubled party policy formulation, they said.

The State Financial and Fiscal Discipline Act of 2018 requires that members of the Cabinet strictly comply with financial and fiscal disciplines of the state.

strictly comply with financial and fiscal disciplines of the state”,

He has all the soldiers, tanks, guns and submarines.

How do you think he got the job in the first place?

Bangkok Thais will vote 'yellow' (aka army), Laos speaking Thais will vote 'red' (aka Thaksin)

Laos speakers are in the majority so they will win any fair election as always.

No need for thinking or reading.

It's a feudal system and you vote for your ruler.

That reminds me of a quote by Margaret Thatcher.

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”

For socialism use Populism.

Like former governments of TS and TY, errrr TS did, besides taking very good care of their own needs.

You miss the point: With former elections EVERYONE was allowed to campaign on financial promises, but this time round Prayuth said that parties may not make promises that inflate the national buget. BUT his own party just did exactly that...get it now? ????

The budget deficit is good indication of the junta using the people’ money to fund their populist policies and off course their vanity arms procurements. Junta 5 years deficit average 2.4% and last year 2.7%. TS and YS average 2%. Facts matter mate.

They're getting desperate, they're starting to realise that they are going to lose badly, cue the cheating.....

With so many terminally ill and dying buffaloes in the country (according to Thai bar girls) how can they come up with piles of this every day?

Bullshit%20daily_zpsaljt4qrk.png

The trick is to promise enough so people vote for you but not so much that people think that you are full of crap and you won't actually deliver when you are elected. I think this is right on the edge and people may actually believe him.

I don't know how they're going to afford it because when these monsters get back in there's going to be a lot more subs, tanks, jets. helicopters etc from their good ol' Chinese mates. ????

It is always better for economics to determine wages, and not governments.   Think they make see some writing on the wall, as the junta largely blamed by the average Thai for hampering the economy, while supporting the wealthy.  Some people go as far to say that the military has kept Thailand from developing.  Are migrants going to get a minimum wage too ?  More mind numbing, half baked ideas courtesy of junta:  feeble minded, Thailand wide.

The guys using the fag packet, are obviously not economists if the impairment just half of what they say, inflation will take off the economy would go downhill big time, this lot have spent most of the country's money, then they would have the job of calling in the IMF/World Bank........again

But us farangs could be happy, the baht would drop, giving us a better exchange rate.

As has been said they will not win, just vote catching.
