From reading pilot's forums about this incident, too many of today's pilots have too little experience and have become over dependent on software. Many First Officers are so young and have so few hours that pilots often complain they (F.O. s) could not fly the plane manually if required.

  • Software sounds very apt! If Boeing have been working this (as a known fault) for longer than a few days, they need to be severely prosecuted.

I wonder if these two flights went up at a faster rate of climb than in the US. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a lot faster than the US rate of climb to trip the alarm.
