A dugong was found dead in the Andaman Sea off an island in Trang's Palian district on Wednesday morning.

 

Officials from the Libong Wildlife Sanctury said fishermen spotted the bloated marine mammal’s carcass off a beach on Koh Lao Liang.

 

The carcass, which was about 90cm long and weighed about 30kg, was sent to the Phuket Marine Biological Centre to determine the cause of death.
