6 million voted for them.

(probably less than that , but still in the millions).

I cannot for the life of me think of another country where millions of citizens would vote for dictatorship - can you?

With that low voter turnout, I can think of one country where millions of citizens didn't vote for dictatorship.

I'm surprised people take these elections seriously. I didn't have to go to a fortune teller to say that military with Prayut will win the elections. Why? Because it's common sense. They control everything. I mean everything ????

No. You would still have a poorly advised, woefully ignorant electorate choosing to Remain primarily because they're sick and tired of the endless to-and-fro and petty politicking. They're bored with it all and want it to end but still can't be bothered to take some time to consider their options beyond what the media headlines say their options are. Because in your own words, that matches perfectly what the people want which is not the same as what the people need.

Regarding your shoe conundrum... you asked for a second opinion?

For fear of being fully off topic. The poorly advised and woefully ignorant part of the electorate are the people that voted leave. I don't think I have seen an electorate make such a stupid and illogical decision. WIth a margin so tiny, it should never have been acted upon.

I'm not from the UK but I listen to English nationalists who explained their positions very clearly and with good reasoning. Do you actually know what the other side believes?

Or perhaps he just said never mind i'll use them on the wrong foot because I'm too lazy to change?

Most of my Thai friends are aged below 40, they all say it's time to oust the old school...

reds or yellows they're tired of the same old politics, and hate the military dictatorship.

I have heard a resounding change in views & they're voting for the future forward party !

I asked my wife, neighbour and 2 friends how they voted. 2 are over 40 and the other 2 are younger than 40.

FFP = 2

PT =1

PPRP = 1

One thing for sure about the Thais.....they are reliably unreliable!!!

They have proven me right again. NEVER get excited about the thought or dream that Thais may think for themselves or rise up for their own good.

Sheep...did what they were told to do exactly as expected and exactly as they have been trained to do.

You deserve this.

Unsure if i'm allowed to post this, if not then just delete the message.

People in my friend's village have been approached yesterday by you-know-who's goons. They made their rounds through the village, knocking on people's doors asking them to vote for their master. In return they receive 1000 baht, and they must send a copy of their ID card by message.

I heard same thing is happening in other places.

Not here in rural Khampaeng Phet it isn't, at least in my village.

The howling dogs are out every morning for the food vans only.

To give the current government time to "adjust" the results.

They are doing a good job of that already, according to various media, the exit poll isn't off by the usual 5%, it is off by a whopping 30%

Yeah right, I don't believe this charade for one second.

Just like I said weeks ago... all this bs on here from People who know nothing... the Prayut is popular, he has done the best job for this country and get ready for another 20 years of his rule... once again it's not your country or your buisness so if you don't like it pack your bags and go home to your own stinking immigrant filled country!

Hmm. I believe the number of immigrants to Thailand quite possibly is a bit higher than any of the countries you seem to refer to. But we already know that racists and xenophobes don't really like democracy, as you so aptly showed.

At the very least, in Thailand, you would be on the receiving end of those sentiments fare easily than even the odd Cambodian immigrant. Good day to you sir ????

Just heard on the Thai news that Prayud has won, time to celebrate!

What a surprise it is ! Yet the exit poll quite clearly showed there was a 90 seat gap. Amazing how a few hours can close such a gap !

Rigged ? You bet your ass.

edit: Yet, when the ballot count hit 91 per cent, Pheu Thai had moved forward with 153 seats, while Phalang Pracharat ended with 142 seats.

Seems it is not over yet. It boggles the mind how the exit poll can differ so vastly from the actual results. To me, that is simply not possible.

I employ 22 people in this country, and I have a family that I support. We spend a lot of money every month as a family too, further boosting the economy. Please let me know if you want me to pack my bags and take away our money supporting 25 Thais, boosting the Thai economy during these times, when the economy (not according to this government) is obviously down the drain. If I am not welcome here, simply for having an opinion about the future of my children and grandchildren, I'd be happy to do so. Now, that being said, what the hell have you contributed to the Thai economy?

Quite surprising actually that so many voted for the junta. Seems they do have some support.

Not sure why you would blame all Thais.. also those that did not vote for the junta for what is happening. Surely only those who voted pro junta would be to blame not those who voted against.

I never ever expected the junta to become the second party. You might not believe me but I am not happy about that.

You are correct.

I don't believe you.

Then Thais only have themselves to blame for the result because of their laziness.

Also,  whoever governs cannot say they represent the majority of the people.

My wife, my neighbour and 2 friends from the big village voted. I know as I talked to them this evening.

It is panic adjustment time when the crap hits the fan.

The EC must be in a headless chicken mode.

Probably, I find it disgraceful. No way the exit poll can differ this much from the actual results. You know, I personally think, with this much machination, why even have this election, it is well and truly a farce.
