March 28, 20197 yr Is it possible to do an entry into Thailand either for Visa Exempt or Non-immigrant O entry with a passport that expires in less than 6 months? The passports will have about 4-5 months of validity left at the time of exit/re-entry. Either for Visa Exempt or Non-immigrant O entry? Likely border is Ranong.
March 28, 20197 yr Your passport has to have a validity that covers your length of stay. Edited March 28, 20197 yr by Justin Side
March 28, 20197 yr Those from certain countries can enter the country with a passport that is valid for the their length of stay. A good guideline for those that can do it is if they qualify for a visa exempt entry. The problem is that some border crossing will say you need 6 months of validity. Also all neighboring countries require 6 months of passport validity to enter.

We'll see what happens. Has anyone done this recently (entered with less than 6 months left on passport)? Particularly with a border run.
April 9, 20197 yr Author It worked out with no problems for both passports. Seems to be a possible soft rule for those doing Visa Exempt land border run. If you have done more than 2 in a calendar year, the 3rd+ one may require showing an onwards plane ticket. At least at Andaman Club this is the case. I assume something similar is in place for Saphan Pla. Jai at Kiwi Orchard guesthouse can help.

The ministerial-order states a maximum of 2x land-border Visa Exempts in a calendar year, with no allowance for having an outgoing plane-ticket, etc. Are you saying that Andaman Club has allowed you to do 3 land-border Visa Exempts in the same calendar year?

I have a theory as to what he may have been told, and misunderstood. Usually, if you already have two visa exempt entries by land in this calendar year, Thai immigration will not stamp you out of Thailand. What Thai immigration may require before stamping you out is (i) a Myanmar visa; and (ii) evidence of onward air travel within Myanmar (that is, assurance that you are not going to try to reenter Thailand by land).
April 9, 20197 yr Am going brain dead with the new visa regulations. And the integrated database is not even fully set yet. Good luck spending anything other than short times in this country soon if you do not have retirement, married or NON IMM. Or if you feel like handing over 500,000thb. The headaches are not going away. #noplacetogo I dont want to go to Vietnam, Cambodia or the Philippines Edited April 9, 20197 yr by Essecola
