BANGKOK, 28th March 2019 (NNT) - The cabinet has acknowledged an integrated plan for road accident prevention and reduction during the Songkran festival this year.

The Assistant Government Spokeswoman, Col. Taksada Sangkhachan, said the plan was proposed by the Road Safety Administration Center.

Col. Taksada said the plan will be carried out from April 11th to 17th, 2019, to ensure the safety of travelers throughout the country during the long holiday of the traditional Thai New Year.

She said the authorities will launch awareness campaigns about drunk driving and safe driving.

Is it possible the police may finally get involved or is that asking too much.

What like clearly define that they are not the same .. but as we know nowt much will change .. apart from maybe the excuses once the death and mutilated toll are arrived at after the water sillyness festival has concluded ..

Just been to a wedding party this evening. Me and the missus took a taxi as we knew we’d be drinking. Wish I could say the same about a majority of the other guests who were drinking.

Amazing how the government can strike fear in its citizens when it comes to expressing free speech but cant do the same for drunk and/or dangerous driving.

The police will be far too busy making sure damp damsels don't corrupt the morals of youth and shame the nation by exposing a chilled nipple thru a t-shirt, priorities! Death before embarrassment!
