Trump's presidency has always been hampered by the threat of impeachment even with in the GOP itself. I guess you will be happy to learn that is no longer the case. Expect a rejuvenated Trump from here on out who has earned some political capital.

 

It was much easier for Xi to negotiate with a president facing impeachment.

The naivety is that they think their 'new Americans' will vote for them rather than their own 'new American' candidates. It will be a vote for Mr Gomez rather than Mrs Pelosi.

This is true to a certain extent and something Trump supporters need to acknowledge. Trump is an extremely competent real estate developer, marketer, and entertainer, but he has no practical policial experience and he made some very naive and stupid decisions when it came to staffing his White House. Trump believed in he hired "established" Republican players it would appease the GOPe and he even more naively believed that these people he hired would faithfully and loyally go about doing their job and not try to undermine him. Almost all Trump's problems stem from this original sin.

 

Obviously the situation would be far worse if Hillary had won as she would be actively encouraging what is going on at the border right now rather than feebly fighting it, but Trump's incompetence is a major issue and he absolutely needs to address this thing in the next week or so or he's not going to win re-election. America did not vote for 1.5 million illegals pouring over our border in a single year, which is what we will have if the current pace continues. They did not vote for more illegals than even the worst of the Obama years. Trump needs to take control of his administration. Either Nielsen needs to be fired or Trump needs to appoint an aggressive, competent, "Border Czar" who all Cabinet Secretaries answer to when it comes to immigration. I'd vote for doing both. The media is downplaying this story to some degree because it is in their interest to allow the crisis to go on unnoticed for as long as possible, but Breitbart has been sounding the alarm for weeks and now Drudge is pushing the story hard too. If Trump becomes the "American Merkel" he's toast in 2020.

Funny that Thailand and the Philippines can manage their visitors, migrants etc. but the great America and Canada can't???? A lot more deportation might help both countries.

I say put some of the money being spent on the illegals and buy a few big ass boats. Give them a one way cruise to China, where they will be welcomed with open arms.
