Yeah, and his goons never even paid anyone to vote, intimidate or coerced them.

But but Thaksin....:cheesy:

You are obsessed.

Just admit it.

Meanwhile hundreds of reports, some noted here, of vote buying by the JuntaScumParty, but in the past it's only ever been the Red Shirts. The Red Shirts. The Red Shirts...

Never the Dems.

The Yellows are too pure for this....

But but Thaksin....

Pathetic.

I visit friends a lot in Isaanarea and my “farang observation” is that the junta government has put a lot of money into updating the infrastructure in the towns and cities (improving highways, hospitals, and schools. Also the province leaders in power  are no longer sucking money into their own bank accounts so more budgeted money in cities are being spent on improving the cities. Under Thaksin’s power it was only talk. My Isaan friends notice the positive change also.

I see the exact opposite.  I see more and more farming land parcels sold to chinese backed companies and the unchecked overuse of chemicals creating entirely toxic soil and waterways.

The education system has been entirely gutted and none of the schools have teachers that can teach the required language programs.

My girl is one of 8 siblings and ALL of her brothers and sisters are working abroad because there is absolutely no local job opportunities.

One of her brothers is married and has two kids now aged 5 and 6. He hasn't seen them for over 4 years because he is working on a contract (farm hand) in Israel.

Her sister and husband were working illegally in Korea (farm hands).  Just last week the boyfriend went into the local village because he was sick and was nabbed by immigration and deported.  So now they are separated with her working alone on a remote farm in rural Korea (surrounded by pakistani men also working illegally) and him back in Thailand. She calls most nights in tears and is very worried about being raped. Since he has been back he has been unable to find any work locally and is trying to go to Israel or Taiwan. They were both working full time in Bangkok factories but could not survive on the wages.

Positive changes...Pffffft.

The goal of the militarized elite is to further impoverish farmers so that they can take their land.  Same as its ever been.

So, they}re not doing highway/infrastructure improvements? That isn't what I'm seeing. More work going on than I've seen in 13 years.

Obsession is in the eye of the beholder, your inability to admit that the leader of the alphabet parties, his family and leaders of the vigilante/arsonist branch of the party have comitted criminal acts is obsession in my book. Saint Thaksin right? Excuse me while I vomit.

Thaksin is neither saint nor devil.

Any who believes he is either is an ill informed idiot.

Is there anything about the junta that makes you vomit?

You probably need to visit an optometrist, get your eyesight sorted so that you don't have to spend another 13 years unable to see properly.

Your advice is about as welcome as your political affiliation. At least the election is over, that's the only positive I take from it. I live in a village, not a city, I see how things are done at this level, no stars in my eyes so vision is not a problem.

You don't care about the cheating in the election in an attempt to prolong the oppression of the people, you care whether or not you got a new footpath in front of you house.

How charming.
