Beautiful woman films Bangkok taxi driver watching porn in his cab while driving

Daily News reported that a beautiful woman - on her boyfriend's motorcycle - spent 15 minutes following a taxi and filming while the driver watched a porn movie. 

 

Miss Baitoei then posted her experience on her Facebook page as a warning to other women who might be traveling at night. 

 

However, while female netizens shared her story in disgust male netizens suggested that it was not illegal to view porn. 

 

Though they conceded that watching any movie while driving a cab was against the law.

 

Daily News Online caught up with the woman who had posted on "Bai'Toei Mnw" with the hashtags (in Thai) #taxi#scary#dangertosociety#forwomen#travelingalone.

 

She said that the incident in question happened on Tuesday as she was travelling from Samitivej Hospital in Sukhumvit Soi 49 along the quiet back sois to On Nut 24. 

 

Baitoei said she was an observant person and though at first she thought the driver was looking at a YouTube ad she soon realized it was porn - and her boyfriend agreed. 

 

They decided to follow the driver on their bike for fifteen minutes along the sois until he drove off. 

 

She said she was concerned that he would see them filming but they were doing nothing wrong.

 

She claimed that in a previous incident in Asoke her and a friend had seen a taxi driver "take out his worm" and "help himself" - Thai euphemisms for engaging in masturbation. 

 

Netizen reaction from women to the story was swift with abundant shares but many men defended the driver's right to watch porn.....just not in a cab while driving. 

 

Baitoei conceded there were many good taxi drivers in Bangkok - she just wanted to warn women about the rogues.

Toxic feminism can’t have a male enjoying the sight of females, even if it’s inside of a car with no passengers with no tangible reason for her to care so much. Were she and her boyfriend wearing helmets ?   If she was so concerned about this Taxi driver did she file a Police Report ?  Probably followed him so far because she had never seen a Porno movie before !

She was on the bike with her boyfriend, and was recording the cab apparently, but there is no indication, or reason to think, without evidence, that he was riding without due care and attention. He was the one in control of the bike, she was recording, so we simply can't know.

Although there is an air of female outrage that the taxi driver is doing this, and the implied danger to any solo female pax (which I would agree is a potential danger), I feel that the main issue here is that the guy was watching ANYTHING at all instead of concentrating on driving. As someone noted elsewhere, somewhat unsurprisingly, even the baht bus drivers in Pattaya apparently watch Thai boxing on their mobiles while driving.

It really is a safety issue more than anything, with a side order of potential danger to female passengers thrown in the mix.

The crime is that he watches tv while driving.

revoke his license for ten years plus 10,000 bht fine or one year in jail or both.
