Six customers arrested for drug use after raid in Bangkok pub

Six customers were arrested on drug charges early on Saturday after troops and police, led by the Internal Security Operations Command, raided a Bangkok pub.

 

The 2.30am raid on the New Jazz 2 pub on Phra Pinklao Road in the Bangkok Noi district was made following complaints that it violated closing hour law and disturbed the neighbourhood.

 

 

Col Viroj Nongbualang, intelligence chief of the ISOC's Bangkok command, said they received complaints that illegal activities were taking place as a lot of migrant workers were seen entering the premises.

 

Viroj said the authorities found 31 customers inside at the time of the raid. He said eight of the customers were Thai men and nine were Thai women and there was also five migrant men and nine migrant women.

 

Six of the customers tested positive for drug use and were arrested.

 

Viroj said the authorities also found gambling equipment, including five computers for betting online on football matches and a dice game table.

 

 

He said the owner and the manager of the pub would be later charged with violating closing hour laws and allowing drug abuse and gambling to take place in their premises.

 

The pub was found to have no licence and the management will also face a charge of operating without a licence.

If that is not enough to close the pub and big fine and jail time for this owner it means he have very good connections
