Here in Isan the average day time temp in April is 37 - 40 and 30 - 32 at night.

Living in a humid and somewhat hot coastal climate (although really quite temperate, maximum usually not more than about 30-32,) I used to think dry heat would be better, until I experienced 35+ degrees. On the coast, there is usually some wind, some breeze...which makes a big difference.
