A sudden attack of old age!

I remember Callum Mills' grandfather, Ray Mills, who was a pretty good player for Perth Football Club in the WAFL. He was in the State side a few times.

I was playing about the same time.

Buenos dias amigos, Natham the under pressure pie Buckley has ramped up the razz matazza for trade week boldly stating Cloke could very well be staying, mierda mucho por supuesto, ( bullshit of course) the game is anyone who takes him takes him on his current salary or as close to it they the Pies dont want to be paying overs.....

Estruendos (rumblings) at Tiger land, a once was pretty Peg O'neil berating the merdia (shit) thats coming from a no action as of yet group within, saying spots on the board are up for election every year...the once was blonde stirring rivals with corporate style put down .....

Freo delist Anthony Morabito, another injury this time in Peel thunders win over East Perth will undergo surgery in Melbourne this week. Taken 4th in the 2009 draft and 16 picks ahead of Nat Fythe the hard running mid that was the size of a key position player played 14 games for Peel this season, 3 knees reconstructions in 2011,12 and 13 did managed to play 26 games in total for the Dockers, life can be cruel at 24 retired.

Melbourne Demonios but i prefer Diablo as it sounds better announce that man Jack......Viney maiden best and fairest winner ( maiden? there expecting this guy to be a multiple winner) Jack joins dad Todd at having collected the Keith "Bluey" Truscott Medal. Todd won the award in 1993 and 1998.

1 Jack Viney.....i thought his second half wasn't really there.....in sizzling form until injured mid season....well just goes to show you how  good i am at picking ....

2 Natham Jones ......dont know how he managed to come second picked up his game in the second half of the season i know he was carrying an injury early...

3 Max Gawn......in my mind should have scooped the pools...

4 Tom "who" Dyson .......in his 3rd season finally delivers or it was going to be chop....

5 Jack Watts......in my mind should have been 2 maybe the stats arnt so high but every ball was a winner one of the most creative in the team when he has the ball.

6 Tom McDonald.....Key defender always serviceable or better and getting better with age.

7 Bernie "the man" Vince......has a smile on him from ear to ear very popular with members, should have been 3rd big value always from this guy...

8 Jess "the hulk" Hogan.....will be in time, season 1 showed he could take a contested mark and kick a goal, season 2 began running up the ground often found on a wing, his new game style resembles though still far from it a la Franklin when he's playing up forward. The future is his though he should lean new body language projection.

9 Neville Jetta....i would think this would have been his most serviceable  year by far came as a small forward and for years in and out, been around for a while, Roos gave him the back pocket when he came and hasn't looked back, sent us into attack many times this year..

10 Dean Kent....well blow me down is this guy a star or what, burst onto the stage, a goal sneak, a hard runner, a niggler and only his first season.

11 Jaden "the flash" Hunt.....this guy reminds me of Barassi's hard running half back lines that played in all those premierships at North Melbourne, a skilful and quick running defender this season has everything to be a very polished mid as well, long kick excellent football brain has excellent bloodlines as well....

12 Christian Petracca.....once in the team never left it, plays like he has 6 years under his belt already, could be anything, expectations is he will be one of the top 3 mids within no time.

13 Oscar "little mac" MacDonald brother of Tom, nice signs coming from this guy.

14 Josh Wagner....another who once in was able to hang on to his spot goes un noticed a lot did many nice things..

15 Jeff Garlett...elusive, once the ball comes down even better his stats will go sky high.

16 Billy "not as good as the old man" Stretch looked slow seems undersized to me yet finished the season strongly...

17 Tomas Bugg......now this in my mind was the pick up of the season, constanly a high scorer in Fantasy, was in my team, added some very much needed animal to a soft Dees team, a niggler and shit stirrer on the field hard at it and ruffled more than a few opposition forwards, played deep defence first half of the season where i thought he was outstanding, seemed to be playing from the half back line running into the midfield in the second half of the season where i thought he was less effetive.

18 Aaron Vandenberg.....injured early took a while to get into stride, played mostly forward though normal a hard hitting mid, build very solidly was hard for defenders to overcome, gained traction towards seasons end, last seasons find was good to see the mature recruit build on it..

19 James Harmes .....a smart forward mid will only get better did some nice things shows promise.

The Dee's will hold off list decisions for 2 more weeks as affiliate Casey Scorpions are in the finals in the VFL, Jack Grimes future is in doubt Chris Dawes and Cameron Pederson are out of contract, apart from Grimes the other two are big bodied men Cam played well towards the end of the season and Dawes who has spent more time in the doctors office in his time at Deeland was finally showing something when in the team, i like Daws i see him in the mould of Cloke a power forward if i could keep him i would....a 2 year contract to see if he can come up might be the go....

Sorry Alex, I didn't fully read your lengthy precis of an also ran team who played like mierda when a place in the finals was up for grabs. Anyway, I believe they've already left on their end of season trip to Honduras.

I'm much more interested in the teams who actually play in September rather than start mad Mondays.

Callum Mills wins the 2016 AFL Rising Star award. Great result for him and the Swans.

ANother future Brownlow winner

Not a bad win for a guy who had never played in defence before this year

Those two characters decided that the number one, most appetising, final is the Geelong - Hawthorn game. Once again very Vic centric.

For me the clash between the Sydney teams is much more interesting. Although Sydney, with 7 or 8 future Brownlow medalists in the side should be unstoppable!

Mate if i wrote that article just for you i would have kept it to 3 words, might be a good idea to just chill and look into the middle distance, no need to comment or put down members efforts just because they dont measure up to what you think is important.....

You could do what i do and just skip over who you know are total boring posters....saves a lot of time and you wont even offend anyone in doing it....Have a nice day.

AFL Odds

Team Odds
Sydney $3.25
Adelaide $3.50
Geelong $5.50
Hawthorn $5.50
Greater Western Sydney $9.00
West Coast $26.00
Western Bulldogs $34.00
North Melbourne $67.00

There you are WILL looks like you will have your wish.....

WCE vs WB

The inform Eagles in Perth should get over the line in this you would think....lets not underestimate the Dogs, they will have to close down Mr Kennedy if they want to have a chance the guy has been outstanding last 3 or so weeks the "Factor" of Nick Nak out for the duration is a big deal that at some point in the finals push will be felt WILL..... A little birdie whispering in the wind says the Doggie defenders have been collecting Bulldog Poo down there at the Western Oval, it will be smuggled on too the WA ground and i believe placed strategic around the forward line to hamper Mr Kennedy....we shall see we shall see....

Cats vs Hawks

Flip a coin here, Cats had a soft work out last game of the season whilst the Hawks had to endureeeeeeeeee, Cats still have a lot of premiership players in there squad whilst the Hawks hunger might not be as strong as it use to be...Guinnes has been added to the cat food this week while i believe coach Clarkson has been touring the team through the Hawks trophy room.

Swans Vs Giants

Experience over the new kids on the block should be telling.....it will be a frigging Franklin day, the only thing the cameras will be seeing during the game is Lance's big smile.

Crows vs North

Crows shut down all over in last game of the season I'm not convinced there so hot, then Scott  pulls a rubber duckie from out of his cap by publicly making it known playing legend Stevens and 3 of the over the hill gang wont be back next season....the law of physics says the Crows by a canter then on the other hand that rubber duckie might be full of rocket fuel since the injection from the backside by one Mr Scott.

BREAKING NEWS     BREAKING NEWS....

The AFL are going into the entertaiment industry, they have a new product trailed it last weekend or so code named AFL X....no its not porn its a comedy of possible errors, 7 man a side teams playing on a soccer size pitch.....i will give it a name, Aussieoocer, i mean what else could you call it?

The brains tank at AFL house with only Brisbane to worry about havent much to so, oviously around a bottle or JW or 3 some brainstorming they concived AFL X.....

The Age reported it this late afternoon...have the tablet open in front of me....

Gillon recons AFL X is to attract none footy fans...he most be joking of course, what he really means is there trying to come one up on Soccer and the Aleague in AU, new TV rights and comercial TV coverage is very close on the horizon for the Aleague, Cahill has returned from overseas to play here the sky is the limit.....Silly really, Rugby and AFL and Soccer co exsists quite nicley, anyway the idea is to play AFL X/Aussieoccer in the AFL off season but its not firm as of yet, also mentioning it be a retireing home for AFL footballers, now they had a hit out just recently all hush hush and the report was the 7 a side teams were exashuted if this is the case i dont think the concept would suite aging footy rock stars do you?

Gillon expects to market this new concept game overseas as well......

What do i think? Nothing worng with trying something new, Do i think it will work? maybe in 100 years, the AFL is clutching at straws, im sure if enough markerting and money is thrown at the concept once they work out the details there is a good chance they will get it up and running....for the world to play? sure a few Chinese and Thai teams might even spread to the big apple, there is no chance that it will dent NFL or college football in the US let alone Soccer in the rest of the world....

Must be a West Aussie initiative since the Vic own Aussie rules......
