I felt geelongs backline were back to their best last week and with Seedsman out the pies would lose some drive.

It hurts if i have to pick the pies too often.smile.png

Good pick Farmerjo. Not only beating me in the tipping this week but giving me a hiding in the Fantasy.

You get the away teams with a margin of 0. That is if the away team wins by 40 points you get the 1 point and your margin is 40

The controversial AFL sub-rule has been a hot topic so far this season, but Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon won’t be drawn into a public debate on it.

Freo played the second half against Melbourne on Sunday a man-down, after losing captain Matthew Pavlich and forward Michael Walters to concussions before half-time.

Many in the industry have called for the AFL to scrap the sub but Lyon said he just dealt with the rules in front of him.

Calibre goes up

“It’s very topical…(but) I don’t make policy on the run,” he said.

“I know the subs there, I just deal with what’s in front of me.”

Lyon said all clubs could have their say on the rule after the season.

“All clubs get an opportunity to put in their view, which we will do, we will go through a correct process,” he said.

“I’m not sure it serves any purpose banging on in the media about it.”

Don't support the sub rule myself.

Would rather see a bench of 6, interchange cap rate the same at 180.

ripstanley, do you mean 2 who just didn't tip this week or they haven't tipped all year?

If they haven't tipped this year, to me it seems pointless having them. As admin can you

delete them?

Thoughts guys?

Who are the 2?

I like to have someone other than myself finishing last.

Edit:

I just had a look at the rules on not picking

if you don't pick you can only get a maximum score of 5 each week..and that is if 5 away teams win.

FAILURE TO TIP

13. If an Entrant:

a. does not submit a tip for a given Match in a Round, then the Entrant's tip for that Match will be deemed to be for the team determined, in the Promoter's sole discretion, to be the "away team"; or

b. does not submit a tip for Matches in an entire Round, the Entrant's tips for that Round will be deemed to be those of the teams determined, in the Promoter's sole discretion, to be the "away teams" up to a maximum of five correct tips for that Round; or

c. enters the Promotion after the commencement of the first Round of the Season, then the Entrant's tips for those Matches that have been completed will be deemed to be those of the teams determined to be the "away teams" to a maximum of five correct tips for each such Round.

Was the idea of the Sub rule and interchange cap numbers , to try and minimise the impact the game was having on payers?

  • 1994 – the introduction of a third interchange
  • 1998 – the introduction of a fourth interchange
  • 2011 – the replacement of four interchanges with three interchanges and a substitute
  • 2014 – the addition of an interchange cap at 120

Maybe they could keep the interchange cap at 120 but allow 5 players on the bench. Or 6? 2 players could be full subs

The problem i see is the game is fast enough now,the only way to offset that is more rule changes.

The rules should be left alone in my opinion. With the exception of getting rid of the sub rule.

As you see weve already lost the shirtfront out of our game because of the speed and less skilled players(more atheletes)

I just went back and checked. No tips entered from round 3.

I can delete them if that what is wanted.

I think they should be. Some may miss a week but this will be 4 including this round

Ron, where are you getting your selection of emoticons from?

I have noticed quite a few new recruits to the emoticon team.
