Adding i think the critics are being hard on the Eagles,many sides have given up leads this year in such a close competition. Also teams vary in their game style,Simpson probably acknowledges his midfield strength is down and that's why they play a defensive intercept game setting up from there. I'm not an Eagles fan but don't see why they are getting bashed by local media when there is a lot of basket cases below them. Oh that's right,the sides below are playing kids and going nowhere.A lot will disagree but i'm still a fan of the top up method.Sure a coach can identify raw talent and how they fit into the side but having to give a youngster 50-60 games to fit in is a recipe for disaster.That's what the magoo's is for. Why coach Fj?.......2 horse town thats why....top up is ok if there in there prime as there not going to get better with at least 3 to 4 seasons in them and of course they need to be in the top dozen of there position. Then we have the issue that media has seen that sensationalising something sells...its a fact of life that pisses me off...Ms Caro has a habit off being able to appear to write an article that seems fair and just yet can be scathing at the same time, its one of the reasons I won't read her reports, in fact I normally skim over most news reports choose what I want to read...I prefer the politics of the game rather than the crap of on going coaching merry go round etc etc... Sincere condolences, early in the week we (Chiang Rai) were given a 1000mm in 72 hours forecast but the worst seems to have gone over your way. Ron, you weren't indecisive but then not sure who you picked. I did that last week thinking i picked Collingwood but it came up Eagles,but couldn't really be sure who i picked as i changed it a few times. Thechook Posted July 29, 2017 Share Posted July 29, 2017 The Saints should have put away port in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and ran out with an easy 6 goal at least win. Their kicking for goal was appalling with 8 shots unpressured going astray that any under 10 forward would have got. 7 kicks to opponents to give them uncontested marks didn't help either. The saints lost that game more so than Port won it. Having said that, the way the saints played port deserved the win. I think Jake Carlisle was best on ground putting on a superb display marking and repelling everything that came his way only to bet down by those around him like Nathan Brown to mention one. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
