Thaivisa didn't send any data

This is the error message I have been getting on my computer when trying to connect to Thaivisa.

At first I thought the server was down, but when I tried with my mobile there were no problems.

I am using True fiber and as far as I can see can connect to all other sites.

Any ideas?

Many times this type of problem is temporary.  Has it cleared up?

To assist those who wish to help you please indicate what operating system (Windows,Linux,MacOS) you are using and also what version.

My windows experience is rusty but for Windows 7 you can try:

- go to the Start menu

- type 'CMD' (without quotes) in the Search window

- there should be one result, CMD.EXE returned

- click on it and a small window with a black background should appear

- click in that window and then type 'ping -n 5 thaivisa.com' after the > that appears on the last line

- if this test is successful you will see output as below

- you can close that new window after you make note of the results

- report your results back here

True's outdated, inconvenient transparent caching proxy must be the reason.

That allegedly "outdated, inconvenient transparent caching proxy" must be the reason I, and everyone else (no one else has complined about it), have no problems at all connecting to Thaivisa using True?

It had problems in the past and I don't see why you defend a visible transparent proxy from an ISP?

Given very little data, my conclusion is True transparent proxy is causing OP's problems.

Just for him, no one else?

Thanks for the tip.

Yes it has cleared up now and works well.

Actually I didn't give the operating system because I tried on my computer using Windows 10 and my Android phone on wifi.

When I turned the wifi off and used 4G from AIS I could connect without problems.

Also as I said it was only this one URL (as far as I could see).

That's why I asked. To see if others had the same problem.

I have earlier had the same error with Tvmucho and even the girl at True's customer service had the same problem. Even so she said she would send a technician to my home to look at it.

  • 3 weeks later...

I am having similar problems with Kaspersky.  Whenever I connect to ThaiVisa I get a message from Kaspersky saying they have blocked the page due to "Threat of Data Loss"  It only happens on TV.  My provider is 3BB (fibre) and I am running windows 7 ultimate.  Anybody else having problems?
