Forty bits of wood picked out of Thai man's nose

A doctor in Southern Thailand has commented on a case doing the rounds of social media in which a 46 year old man had an operation to remove 40 large wooden splinters from his nose.

The man had complained of bad breath and had pus coming from his nostrils but was reluctant at first to have anything done.

But specialists at Sichon Hospital in Nakorn Sri Thammarat persevered and he was given anesthetic.

Dr Aran Wongworachart removed the bits of wood from the sinus area where they had caused an infection.

The man was recovering at home.

Dr Aran said that doctor/patient privilege prevented him from giving too many details but he intimated that this was a result of a mental health disorder.

The condition was sometimes seen in young and innocent children, rarely in adults.

Using toothpicks to pick his nose maybe. He just 'kept losing them'.

That's a fair bit more than most Thais pick out of their noses.

I wonder if he ever had treatment for termites?

Maybe it's the other way around, he accidentally gave himself a prefrontal lobotomy with the toothpicks.

Personally, I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me, than a full frontal lobotomy,

Did any of the bits of wood have lucky lottery numbers on them ??:whistling:

Diluting cocaine with wood splinters = bad idea
