Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts joined the 38-kilometre bicycle ride, which aimed to promote tourism in Ranong's Muang district on Sunday.

The “Slow Life, Amazing Thailand, Go Local @Ranong” ride began from the front of Muang Ranong Municipality Office. The ride passed through interesting sites such as a hot spring, and a mangrove forest research centre before circling back to the municipality office.

The participants also got a chance to play games that educated them about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Six donated computers were handed over to Ban Tha Chang School’s digital lab.

The trip was organised by Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana Co Ltd, JP Insurance PCL, NationTV 22 and Tourism Authority of Thailand as well as allies.

What I can't work out with these cyclists is that they all wear helmets. I suspect that when they put their bikes away they hop on their motorbikes without any thought of wearing a helmet. The bicycle helmet must be considered a fashion accessory.

They were't allowed to participate without a helmet.

I wear a helmet to prevent sunburn on my forehead more than anything else, and often wear my bicycle helmet on my m/c.

Maybe try to understand why the cyclists were made to wear a helmet. Your reasoning cannot be serious can it? Besides its illegal in most countries to use a bicycle helmet on a m/c - not sure about Thailand tho it should be as there is good reason for wearing correct head protection.

Somewhat better than a straw hat or a baseball cap.  Certainly not adequate protection for a motorcyclist.
