Retirement extension combination income method reports?

Featured Replies

Anyone see reports of the combination method working for income verification. I can show 1 years worth of monthly deposits of around 30,000THB ... I am trying to decide if I should bring the balance as a lump sum deposit in my Bangkok Bank account or if I should just go ahead and not bother and deposit the entire 800k ...

Anybody (especially Americans) use the combination method recently? My monthly Bangkok bank deposits all show "international transfer" in my bank book of around 30,000 to 32,000 for the last 12 months.

Thank you.

There have been some reports of the combination option being accepted.

It appears you have proof of your income that would total a to a annual income of 360k baht which means you would need 440k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months on the date you apply for the extension.

I have always been a bit gun shy about using this particular methodology, for fear an agent with a brain might point out that the transfers are not via Social Security or a Pension ... just "International Transfer."

So, if you have 100,000 baht, what is to stop you from transferring 50,000, sending that back to the USA (There a plenty of ways), and while that gets all sorted out over a few weeks, send the other 50,000 ... Rinse and repeat.  Voila! 12 - 50,000 THB "International Transfers"

I have Social Security monthly deposits, and still find I sleep much better keeping an 800,000 balance year round.

It leave no room for error, or some fickle interpretation by an office having a bad day.

But that is me, a guy who still goes every 90 days in person for my check in, afraid the computerized system will screw up, leaving me with a meaningful problem.
