Roadtrip north

Good morning to all of you.

 

I finally bought a car which I will get in 3 weeks. School holidays  will start end of June and will be 2 months.

We are now planning a 10-12 days trip by car north from Bangkok.

 

Any suggestions where to go? On our agenda are Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai.

Any recommendations, where to go, where to stay, what to see?

We have never been to the north or north-east of Thailand. Even if it takes 14 days, no worries.

 

After this, we would like to stay 10-14 days in Bangkok, where we live and then travel south.

Either direction of Hua Hin and further down or direction of  Pattaya and further down and seeing a few island.

 

Here again, any recommendations?
