The Thai Meteorological Department announced storm warnings in upper Thailand and the South China Sea.

From May 3-6, a high pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea, it said. The southwesterly prevailing winds in upper Thailand will strengthen and the weather continue to be hot over upper Thailand, the agency added.

“Thunderstorms, lightning strikes with gusty winds and hail are forecast first in the northeast on Friday. The north, east and central regions, including Bangkok, will be affected the next day,” the forecasters said.

Stand by for more Power Cuts; three storms last week and a total of 9 hours without power in Hang Dong area.

They talk about ''Thailand 4..moving into the digital age'' when they can't even keep basic electricity supplies working.  Jokers the lot of 'Em !

Agree with you living in San Sai same experience as you. Just back from 8 weeks in West Africa spent time in 2 of the most poorest countries in the world; they have 6 months of dust storms from the Sahara among other weather issues but the power never fails. Here we get a small wind,  enough water from the sky to just make the road wet and bang no power. Casualties last week, 1 emergency light pack and 1 water pump from switching power from sub station on and off like a light switch.

Would love a storm in cm. Hot and polluted so would help wash it out the sky

Rains were early this year. Supplies of WD40 haven't arrived yet.

They put a very similar warning out exactly 3 weeks ago and there was not a drop of rain or a puff of wind

I reckon Michael Fish controls the weather forecasts in Thailand (Brits would understand)

Ah ! That's the  "lot" of the Weatherman....damned if right, damned if wrong !

Weather Warning  = potential outcome.

Not a prediction !

Regardless of  sceptics  I believe  the associated  heavy rain is  coming this time.

Ants  are on the move  big time!
