I assume you are married to a Thai.

You can apply at the Thai Embassy in London for a single or multiple entry Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai. No financial proof is needed. This allows 90-day stays in Thailand. You then have the following options:

  • leave and return to Thailand to get a new 90-day permission to stay (assuming a multiple entry visa);
  • once for each entry, you can choose to apply for a 60-day extension to stay with your wife (easy process if your wife is with you);
  • you can apply for a one-year extension of your permission to stay. This is more involved requiring a fair bit of paperwork in addition to the financial proof you already know about. It requires multiple visits to immigration, and probably a visit by immigration officials to verify that you are in a genuine marriage.

Reports indicate they don't require the funds, to spite this being on their website.  This could, of course, change - but so far, people applying w/o showing funds have received their Visas OK.

Yes, the "O" Visa can be given for multiple reasons - not only marriage to a Thai.

Hi may some when can clarify me this situation.

I am a holder of Non Inmigrant O Multiple entry Visa (because marriage) That will expire on July 23th. The point is I will go back to my country on june 23th to pass the summer there and I am planning to come back to thailand on september.

The question is: can I renew my VISA in Thailand on June before gone (around 45 days prior to VISE expire) or if not how can I manage it to get a new Multiple entry VISA?

Thanks

Make sure you understand the difference between (i) a multiple entry Non O visa; and (ii) an extension of your permission to stay in Thailand in conjunction with a multiple re-entry permit.

If you currently have a multiple entry visa that will expire while you are in your home country, the procedure to get a new visa is exactly the same as you used to get your current visa. You visit the Thai embassy and apply for it.

If you currently have an extended permission to stay, and want to apply for a further extension, discuss the situation with your local immigration office. The difficulty, I think, is going to be the under consideration period. Although you should be allowed to apply for the extension before June 23rd, the application will be under consideration, and your extension will not actually be granted in time. I think it will be easiest just to let your permission to stay expire and start again. While back in your home country, apply for a single entry Non O visa (giving an initial 90-day stay). Towards the end of the 90 days, apply for an extension of your permission to stay in the normal way.
