kitchen equipment/wok store?

Featured Replies

Hello, Can anyone recommend a place in Bangkok where I could get a large high quality wok and a manual coconut grinder?  Many thanks!

I would have thought any market. Or Lazada.

Walk into many of the obvious open air Thai markets and most have a big range of all these things.

Good woks are hand pounded and you can see the indentations.  If not difficult to cook with as food will not hold its position on the side of the wok.

For shredding, grinding coconuts, this contraption works well, you sit on the wooden seat and use the blade to grind the coconuts, this one is the wife's, made by her father 25  years ago, the blades are available from any shop at your local market . she uses it all the time, ask your Mother-in-law, or grandma they will know.

In Thai, they are known as Gra-Die, rabbit in English.

Or join the 21st century and buy an electric one from Lazada.

I'd hate to get my scrotum caught on that beast.

Home pro have 50 kinds of woks.. none as good as the cast iron ones, you can buy from Amazon US for 25 bucks.

Takashimaya in Icon Siam has real good woks....but not cheap!
