Custom made suit

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I need a suit. Would like to go for a custom made one. Any suggestions as to where to go?

I could go to Saraburi, Bangkok, Phetchabun.

How long does it usually take?

How much should I be expected to pay

Do they sell shoes also?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Judging by the number of replies, people have guessed this a troll.

Bangkok, but tailoring here isn't really very good.

A designer name  suit. off the rack, at Macy's "on sale" is cheaper and of better quality than ANY suit made here! Got a Michael Korr's suit for $129.00.

Thank you. I  have to go to a wedding July 13 in the USA, I arrive the 9th.  Macy's it is.  I did some checking meanwhile with some Bangkok custom made places and it can get quite pricey. I never wear suits so it really does not make sense to have one made, I guess.

Yes, pricey if your not astute and many folks easily tricked into buy 2 suits, 4 shirts etc etc., which they don't need and many buyers dissatisfied with the quality of the cloth / often not the cloth selected, etc.

Yes, get one off the rack in your own country with a few alterations if needed.

I had one made here quite a few years ago and the material wasn't the same quality that I had chosen and after wearing it for one day it looked as if I'd been sleeping in it.

So much so that I had to make a joke about it (to stop the comments).........that it was made from recycled plastic cups!

I have had several pairs of trousers made in CM and two suits in BKK, dinner jacket, all great quality, reasonable prices, still more than presentable. In fact my dry cleaner always comments on them

Thank you all. I decided to just wait until I get back to the US (gives me an extra week to lose a bit of weight). It seems to be a crap shoot in Thailand.

There are some very good tailors in Bangkok, but - if its a cheap suit you are after, that is what you will get.

I'd be willing to spend about 10000 or so baht on a decent suit which for a suit I probably only wear once or twice is more than enough, I think. Probably a case of me not wanting to do the leg work in Bangkok.
