His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Monday thanked Thai people for their goodwill on the occasion of his coronation.

“I and the Queen are pleased and delighted to see kindhearted people come here to celebrate my coronation and bless me. Your kind spirit, good wishes and friendship delighted me very much,” the King said.

The King said the unity reflected in their display of goodwill would provide a good opportunity to do works and activities for the prosperity of the country.

He was speaking from the balcony of Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall in the Grand Palace, from where he granted a public audience. The King appeared with HM Queen Suthida to receive the best wishes from government and senior officials as well as thousands of people dressed in yellow who were gathered on the ground in front of the balcony.

After delivering the speech, the King’s children joined him and the Queen on the balcony. After that they received foreign and diplomatic corps who congratulated the King on his coronation.
